Creating Paintings In The Dark

I had everything I needed to begin
Easel, Canvas, Paints, Palette Pad and Brushes
With my mind's eye I could see the picture clearly
A simple and beautiful  painting of you and me
Now if only I did not have to paint in the dark
All I needed was for you to hold up the torch
As I tried to paint with my hands what I felt in my heart
And I needed the light so I could see my handiwork
But you did not provide the torch i needed
So in the end I could not recognize my masterpiece
For apparently I was not in your master plan
It was not the picture my heart wanted to paint
But what else did I expect?
When you left me creating paintings in the dark

~ This painting is called the 'passionate kiss'. I can see where the painter is coming from. For it seems like an abstract representation of two bodies merging together as one. Yet, its hard to recognize the two people sharing that passionate kiss. Plus, if I didn't tell you its name, maybe some of you wouldn't have thought of two bodies merging, would you?

Disclaimer: I think this is a beautiful painting. In no way am I saying that this painting is ugly. But lets work under the assumption that this is not what this painter wanted. The point i'm trying to make is about the lack of clarity, and the fact that Papa Painter or Madam Painter did not have this in mind, and is not amused, and cannot even recognize what the heck this is.

Anyway, painting in the dark is very much like chasing pavements that lead nowhere, you see. When you're done, you realize you're simply tired.. wasted time and effort. So how about you know that you definitely have that torch, or in the case of pavements, find a map, get some direction ... and the rest will follow beautifully.... no long thing!
