Tag. I'm it!

This award was passed on by Maxine. I'm to write 7 things about myself and tag others to do the same. So here it goes...

1. I'm not that tech savvy. I know the basics and that's it. I learn as the need arises and if I have the time. (As you can see, I couldn't figure out how to add the link to Maxine's blog in my post. lol. So i just put 'Maxine'. Hopefully she'll comment, and then you can check out her blog from there..its worth the read)

2. My voice has gotten really bad over the years. Somehow the only time my voice sounds remotely beautiful, is when I sing solos at church. Speaking of my solo performances, I end up crying every time I sing at church, and then like half the church is crying when I'm done.

3. I'm an only child. Maybe that's why I take my friendships so 'World Cup'. I don't think the world is all about me though. Maybe because I grew up thinking my cousin was my sister, or maybe because I spent half-my childhood having sleep overs with my best friend. I really don't appreciate it when people jump hastily to the conclusion that because I'm an only child, I'm a spoilt brat!

4. Lend me your ear, and I'll be sure to talk it off! Basically, when I want to talk, I TALK, only when I want to though.

5. I'm too sweet for my own good. People tend to walk all over me. Yet, at the same time I'm allergic to bullshit. I know that sounds contradictory.

6. I cannot stand 'obronis' who talk with high-pitched nasal voices, and those who use the word 'obnoxious' any chance they get, at everything!
'Like I can't believe the train left without us. Ugh, soooo obnoxious'. Are you for real? What you need is a non-refundable one way ticket to a remote village in a third world country.
While I'm on this, I would like to add that I think ignorant 'akata' people who use the word 'ignorant' any chance they get need some serious divine intervention.

7. I can be forgetful and absent minded sometimes, and I'm really bad with names.

Alright, I'm passing the award to ...

Amazing Grace

She lived a good life
Had a good run
Played her part in society
Gave life to others
Who in turn were a blessing as well
She was an inspiration
Indeed she served her purpose
Then it seemed that life dealt a cruel card
And oh did she fight
She fought a good fight
And won many battles
And as her time grew nearer
And the gates were opened
Beckoning her to a better place
She gracefully obeyed
It would be a shame to think
That she lost the fight
When she really is at a better place
Smiling down at you
Yes, shed those tears
For they serve as an outlet for the pain
But do not wallow in sadness and anguish
For she is smiling down at you

Joy instead of Melancholy

Blink
Blink
Blink
Though I try my hardest
I cannot fight the inevitable
Salty tears rolling down my cheeks

Memories
Memories
Memories
Of wonderful times we shared
Of a love so strong and so deep
Of the first man I ever loved

Regret
Regret
Regret
For I should have walked with you
I should have listened with you
Then maybe you wouldn't have walked that walk
Now I walk a different walk
On the boulevard of broken dreams

Pain
Pain
Pain
For how can one forget
How can one replace
What a way to make an exit
You really should have just kicked a bucket
I bet that would not have been fatal

Now I know what you would want
I know what needs to be done
I derive my strength from Someone stronger
On a mission to make you prouder
Though you never got to see me take the world by storm
You will always be in my heart
So though my heart is heavy laden
And responsibilities pile up
I taste the salty tears and smile
I'm happy
You're happy
We're happy

Always two sides

Intently, I scrutinize
There's a situation at hand
I lent a listening ear
My opinion is needed
Now knife in hand
I'm ready to slice
So a-slicing i go
Getting right into it
I'm left with the last piece
More grease to my elbows
I keep slicing
But how is it that
I'm no better now than when I started
For no matter how thin I slice it
There are always two sides
And I no not which side to pick
So here is a suggestion
Since my opinion is so sought after
Let's all kiss and make up
Bear hugs everybody
Bear hugs!

~ Let there be peace, Let there be light, Let there be happiness, Love, not war, people, love not war! For everyone has their own version of a story. Sometimes its easier to figure out who is at fault, but other times its just too damn hard. Its way easier to just forget past hurts and let peace prevail. You know I love me some peace, love & happiness...so slice that beef, lets have a barbecue, I'm hungry!! :-)

The plea of the tormented Ex

Stuck in a prison called Y.O.U
I'm feeling like a fool
Totally helpless
Completely Useless
Wanting to escape
Yet incapable of doing so
I want to be free
To spread my wings and fly
Yet you keep holding me back
With memories, emotions, actions ..
These I regret
I wish to forget
I wish to let go
But that deadly force keeps me in chains
So I ask with a heavy heart
Save me the agony
For you have the key
Release me from Y-O-U

~ For the tormented ones

New Beginnings

I woke up this morning in a jolly good mood
For a new dawn has come
Its time for new beginnings
One step at a time
One breath of fresh air at a time
Out with the old
Lest it rots and torments my soul
In with the new
For it brings with it freshness
But I save a little of the old
Just as a reminder and a lesson
I save the old friends as well
For they are invaluable and irreplaceable
I hold hands with them
And we move forward together
Away from darkness and into the light
With light-hearts we walk
Leaving our footprints in the sand so others can follow

5 randomly random things I thought about today as I was being my random self randomly on the train

1. Why would any man allow himself to have blue balls. If your move really really doesn't sauce, why the hell won't you just masturbate? Yes, that was quite random, but I really want to know. Please explain if you wish. I want to know the mechanics.

2. I was on the train with two other men, both looking shady as ever. One of them was smoking on the train! The other just reeked of alcohol. I thought to myself, "Why the hell is this inconsiderate mofo smoking on the train. Please Massa, if you want to die, please die alone! Selfish fool. Why can't you be like the alcoholic over there and die alone? Why do you want to kill me with your second-hand smoke! Please, if you want to commit suicide do it responsibly. DRINK, DON'T SMOKE!" Yes, those were my thoughts. I was greatly peeved. Smoking in public is not right. Smoke in your room and die alone!

3. I switched trains. I was going to the last stop, so at some point the train was completely empty except for me and some other guy. The guy looked like a killer! Sorry murderer/ rapist/ everything bad. I thought to myself, "What will I do if this guy decides to rape me right here and now? Well, I can bite him, but really, thats it! So God please do not allow this big black shady looking guy to find me remotely attractive, Thank You". The very sad truth is, if home boy was some smallish Asian sitting at that corner, I would have found no need to say this prayer . Why would I think of the little Asian as a harmless creature when he can probably karate-kick my butt and steal my wallet...but noooo, I wouldn't have thought of anything like that (This is a hypothetical situation. Not all Asians are smallish and not all Asians can kick karate ass or steal wallets). Basically, the dude in the train was a threat because he was big, black, ugly and had a frown on his face. Not cool on my part, but chale, I was freaking out.

4. I was listening to 'Chocolate Legs' by Eric Benet (on repeat, because its a sexy song). Right after I had listened to 'Chocolate High' by India Arie, and I thought of another song, 'Brown Skin' by India Arie. I was wondering...Are there any songs about 'white skin', 'white legs', 'caucasian smile', 'caucasian summer's night'? I shall leave it at that.

5.  I need a bubble bath, a massage, a glass of wine, a bed and a prayer. Just so you know, I only got the bed and the prayer. I said the prayer myself, and I got a shower instead of a bubble bath :-( I'm still waiting for the massage. I don't think that is going to happen either. *sigh*

ps. I have actually met people who are more random than I am.

From Snore To Snog

Snore..
Silence..
Snore..
Oh will he be quiet already

Snore..
Silence..
Snore..
She wonders how she will endure the night

Snore..
Silence..
Snore..
To wake or not to wake him up?

Snore..
Silence..
Snore..
She rubs his back, maybe that will help

Sno--r--e
Silence..
Sno..
Wait she can't quite catch that
Was that a snore?

She feels him move a muscle
He turns and rubs her belly
Now tell me how a snore became a snog!

True Love

'SLIPPING THROUGH MY FINGERS - ABBA' LYRICS

Schoolbag in hand, she leaves home in the early morning
Waving goodbye with an absent-minded smile
I watch her go with a surge of that well-known sadness
And I have to sit down for a while
The feeling that I'm losing her forever
And without really entering her world
I'm glad whenever I can share her laughter
That funny little girl

Slipping through my fingers all the time
I try to capture every minute
The feeling in it
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Do I really see what's in her mind
Each time I think I'm close to knowing
She keeps on growing
Slipping through my fingers all the time

Sleep in our eyes, her and me at the breakfast table
Barely awake, I let precious time go by
Then when she's gone there's that odd melancholy feeling
And a sense of guilt I can't deny
What happened to the wonderful adventures
The places I had planned for us to go
(Slipping through my fingers all the time)
Well, some of that we did but most we didn't
And why I just don't know

Slipping through my fingers all the time
I try to capture every minute
The feeling in it
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Do I really see what's in her mind
Each time I think I'm close to knowing
She keeps on growing
Slipping through my fingers all the time

Sometimes I wish that I could freeze the picture
And save it from the funny tricks of time
Slipping through my fingers

Slipping through my fingers all the time

Schoolbag in hand she leaves home in the early morning
Waving goodbye with an absent-minded smile

So I was watching Mama Mia for the x'th time (love that movie) and a tear rolled down my cheeks when i watched the scene where Meryl Streep was helping her daughter get dressed for her wedding. You should watch that scene, its heart warming. It reminded me of the relationship I have with my mum, and how much I miss and love her. Mother's can be annoying sometimes. They ALWAYS have something to say! Sometimes they try to guilt-trip you into doing things their way. I've come to realise though that they usually know what they are talking about. So its always a good idea to atleast listen to them.
I had always been closer to my dad than my mum. Probably because he got home earlier from work and I spent more time with him. I remember whenever my mum came home on leave, i would be so ecstatic, because it meant better food, lol, but it also meant more shouting! hehe... I've become very close to my mum now. Its not like i ever hated her or anything, but after high school we just got even closer. I talk to her about everything .. random stuff..she's really my homeslice and she gives the best advice. Oh and she cracks me up sh*tless!
Anyhowwhichway, I think what i am trying say is (trust me i've really forgotten the point i was trying to make) the closer you get to that special lady you call your mum, the more you realize that she is all about you :-)

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the wayy...

Jingle bells
Jingle bells
I hear the sound of bells ringing
Santa Clause, bells a'toying
Jingle all the way
Oh dearest Santa, Do you need a hand?
It is quite possible
That i too can toy, even better than you can
So maybe, just maybe
You might want to give me the chance
And let me do the honors
The music may be sweeter
The music will be better
Jingle Bells
Jingle Bells
Christmas Time is 'ere!!!

~ For that lil' kid who can't wait for it to be christmas, and thinks he/she can be Santa for a day....too cute!

'Enah eyeh dien'

I am walking my way
I am thinking about myself
Frisking my hair as I go along
Yeah, I am looking quite African
With my braids and my 'ahenemaa'
But no no no no, it does not give you the right
To yell 'ssss...ssss...'
Yeah, you hear me talk on the phone with my Ghana accent
I may have said 'wo dieh flashy me, m'efreh wo'
But no no noooo, it doesn't mean you can come and make conversation
Yeah, you may have heard some one say 'Edem'
But why does that prompt you to speak 'Ewe' with me
Ah!
I can understand that in a strange land you find solace in your 'country person'
But Massa, i don't know you like that
Just because we are two Ghanaians in Maryland, Chicago or Miami
Does not automatically mean I must marry you and have your nappy headed babies
So i am walking in the african store
Eheh, I have picked up some kenkey and waakye leaves
I am talking to my friend in English
Please what makes you think you can ask me silly questions
'Baaba dun speak Twi?'
'Yes Baaba dun speak Twi.' 'Enah eyeh dien?'
Please why are you cutting the line
I beg, leave dem old man tins where you came from
Cos the last time i checked, i was here first
Or you think you are the only one who has things to do
So please please, i beg..just because I am from the GH, doesn't mean we are BFFs
Thank You

'Rude Gyal' Disclaimer:
I'm not trying to be rude. I'm a really nice person, but i really find it frustrating when other Ghanaians expect that we should be best friends simply because we are both from Ghana. Or when people assume that because I am wearing a Ghana shirt, i MUST speak Twi. I already told you, I hate it when people assume stuff. I'll be nice to you and all, but i still think its funny and someway. Oh well .... I love love love me some Ghanaians though! Even if I wasn't full Ghanaian, born and raised, I'll still love Ghanaians...lol, 'cos we are just too BIGGIN!!! TOO MEEECCCCHHHH!!!!!' :-)

~ For the F&M CREW and everyone who visited this summer.
'We are just too BIGGIN. You dun need to be told about that'.

Skip the bullsh*t

I know how this works
You look at me and smile
You think at that point of momentary insanity
I want her
I need her
I must have her
You turn on the charm
I think at that point of momentary insanity
I want him
I need him
Oh I might just love him
Somehow you sweep me off my feet
Of course it takes some time and effort
So far as I'm concerned its worth it
I go with the flow
Basking in that natural high
But we both know its not gonna last
We've been through this before
So why don't you spare me the bullshit
Let's skip the whole thing
I have too much on my mind
Too much to deal with
No time to waste
I really cannot stop
To pick up the pieces of broken-heart
So I meet your gaze with a smile
Head high, with my youthful grace
I say my hello, hi theres ..
.. And walk away

Tongue-Lip Tango

A temptation, indeed it is
A call to the forbidden dance
To yield or not to yield
The tune is calling
Rise to the occasion, I shall
For the invite is hard to resist
The silence speaks volumes
A dance we both want to share
So you take the lead
Lips part
Tongues tango
A good dancer, you sure are
So the dance goes on
But Alas, I have cheated you
I'm in control
That lower lip is mine for this dance

Lovers and Friends

They were the best of friends
He called her his BFF
She called him hers
Then they became lovers
Twas quite unexpected
They had a good run
Then came the arguments
And then the fights
Words were exchanged
Actions could not be reversed
They parted ways
Now they are neither friends nor lovers

Cold Kisses

Cold stares
Cold kisses
Your heart is as cold as ice
I wonder when and where it happened
How you suddenly became so icy
Shooting daggers through my soul
A soul that thinks the world of you
With a heavy heart
I walk out the door
Because if all you have to give
On this cold winter night
Is a kiss as cold as ice
Then i'd rather be kissed by snow

Life, Lemons, Pineapples

Life was all fine and dandy
Till the gods played a bad one on me
Life was all gravy
Till it handed me dem lemons
What to do?
What to do?
'Make lemonade!', someone shouted
'Ask for tequilla and salt!', I heard
'Lemon and honey. Good for the throat!'
I don't particularly like lemonade
I gave up drinking a long time ago
And i had no cough
I still pondered upon my predicament
Dem lemons were beginning to get on my nerves
So i dug a hole and buried them
Took my hoe
And went a-digging for pineapples
Now i'm lounging on my veranda
Admiring my bougainvillea
And sipping on some pineapple juice
mmm...mmm...mmm...mmm
IT IS MAGICAL!!!

To give or not to give

They want, they want, they want
She smiles, she smiles, she smiles
They ask, they ask, they ask
She gives, she gives, she gives
They take, they take, they take
She gives some more
They take some more
She gets attached
They want none of that
They leave, they leave, they leave
She plans her vengeance
When she is done
They learn to think with their minds
And not their penises

ASS-U-ME #2

If you are my friend, you should know that I'm not a big fan of 'assumptions'. I think people make too many assumptions and get hurt in the end. If you assume anything without asking me first to clarify, you are making an ASS out of U and ME, real talk.

To Be Continued (I'm Sleepy :-o)

It's The Thought That Counts

How many times have we heard the phrase "It's the thought that counts". For awhile i have been wondering if it is really 'the thought' that counts. Shouldn't we be saying something like 'I appreciate the thought' or 'That was a nice thought'? People try to do the right thing, or try to do nice things to other people. They obviously have good intentions and the end result is supposed to be worth the effort. However, when that backfires, how can we honestly say that it is the 'thought' that counts? Shouldn't it be the 'end result' that counts? Let's look at a few hypothetical situations.

- You wake up in the morning feeling like "I got a feeling..that tonight's gonna be a good night, that tonight's gonna be a good good night...". You plan on praying, having some one on one time with the G.O.D, but something comes up and you don't. Is it really the thought that counts? (Luckily God is just a merciful God. It doesn't change the fact that prayer is important though). If your day .. and night doesn't go as planned, will go back and say "Oh, i planned on praying and then something came up." Don't you usually go like "Shoot, i should have prayed this morning"?

- Its your friends birthday. You want her to love your gift. You buy her an I-Phone. She receives the gift. She hates it  (You see, she is into Blackberries) .. or her boyfriend also got her an I-Phone. Obviously she'll keep the I-Phone her boyfriend gave her, who knows what she's gonna do with yours. Its the 'thought' the 'counts' right?

- This is going to raise a few eye-brows but whatever, I am making a point. You have this girlfriend, wife, cuddy buddy, whatever... you plan on giving her the best head ever. In fact she expects the best head ever. Now, one would think that would be a 'sure banker' way to an orgasm for her. You fail miserably. She doesn't even come close to cuming. She is cranky for the rest of the week.....but ofcourse its the thought that counts, right?

- You see an old lady about to cross the street. You also so a bus coming at her at full speed, ok. You try to shout, to alert her, forgetting you have a bad sore throat and have lost your voice. Obviously, you try to scream, but that just doesn't happen. Home girl down! Yes you will go home thinking it was the thought that counts? On her way to heaven or hell, she will be thinking it will be giving credit to your thoughts?

- You have an interview at 2 p.m. For some reason you will not be able to make it. You plan on calling to reschedule. You forget. In this recession! Yes, go and tell them that its the thought that counts.

Ok, i'm tired of typing out examples. As i was saying, I am not quite sure about the expression "It is the thought that counts". Sometimes we must give others credit for attempting to do something, whether it actually turned out well or not, whether that was what you expected or not. Where do we draw the line though. Why do we always try to give credit where credit is not due. I understand that some people have genuinely good intentions. They simply can't deliver. We must appreciate them still, because they were nice enough to even make the attempt. However should we say 'It's the thought that counts'? I guess when people say that, they are really just showing appreciation (and you do deserve that) ... but I personally think its the end product that makes all the difference. I appreciate the thought, ofcourse, and i love you for it..... it counts for something, my friendship.. but does it count for my trust.. if i was dying would i call you? ..when i know they most often than not, backfire? your thoughts would kill me!

Just something to think about..

Tomorrow will be better

Today is worse than yesterday
Today brings confusion, sadness and hopelessness
Yesterday was not bad at all
Now that i think about it
But today, today on the other hand is a royal pain
Today brings with it anger, frustration and bullshit
So I frown and I yell
I rant and I rave
I cry and I wail
Then I pause
I pause and I think
I pray and I smile
For tomorrow will be better than today

Every one wants a morsel
Everyone wants the mouth-watering piece

ODE TO JOY

Inspired by Ludwig van Beethoven - Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, Op. 125, "Choral", and Allegro

The opening of the first movement grows out of a void
A musical journey from darkness to light
Like the sound of an orchestra tuning
Erupting out of calm like a scream in the night
The relatively placid develops with maximum tension and drama
Bridging the waters from classical art form to something else

The second movement begins
Hammer blows followed by skittering
Several variations, a tug of war it is

Into the third movement we go
The tune is quite profound and full of warmth
The melody becomes freer
The strings set an almost ethereal aura
The theme progresses even more
Increasing in volume and pace
But when it seems like it is coming to a close
A loud fanfare intrudes to wake us

The famous finale is the strangest of all four movements
One at a time, themes from the previous three are re-introduced
Passages of high-wire vocalizations intensify the experience
An 'inner symphony' within a symphony
Freude! Freude!
Joy! Joy!

~ Subject to your own interpretation.
ps. Beethoven composed this deaf!

~ For 'meow'! listening to the symphony TWICE paa..stress!

ASS-U-ME

This is what he felt :

'I think quite possibly maybe I'm falling for you.
Yes, there's a chance that I've fallen quite hard over you.'

Yet, he does absolutely nothing.
Why?
Because he ASSUMED that if he professed his love her most likely response would be :

'That don't impress me much.'

How did she really feel?
This is what she felt :

'Lost in a city of you.
I'm falling like a fool
Cos you're my dream come true
I'm gone somewhere up on a cloud
I don't want to come down off this high from you.'

Now, our little 'lady' also made no attempt to verbally express her emotions.

So they carried on as seemingly platonic friends. Lying to the world, and sadly lying to themselves as well. They are still quite single and miserable. All because each person made assumptions.

** Inspired by Landon Pigg - Falling in love at a coffee shop, Shania Twain - That don't impress me much, Ms. Brown - Wonderland

SHUSH!

I'm quiet
I'm thinking
You come in
I look up, I quickly look down
Do not think that I haven't seen you
Do not think that I haven't heard you
It just so happens that I'd rather not see you
I'd rather not hear you
You complain, rant and rave
Random annoying conversations
You're hurting my ear drums
I'd rather not listen
I'm thinking
Be quiet!
I'm not a 'people person'.

Just a poor soul

I've been told that I'm quite the heartbreaker
In fact some have called me just plain and unadulterated evil
Well I beg to differ!
That's quite harsh don't you think?
I'm just a wandering soul looking for some extra-curricular activities
A little grinding here and there
A little groping here and there
Maybe if i get lucky i will make a home run
But really just a kiss will do just fine
Actually, I'm feeling quite lucky tonight
No strings attached, no commitments
You call me your love, I call you my cuddy buddy
Don't get it twisted love is a beautiful thing
You love only one
I choose to love many
You saw another who claims I'm hers?
FYI, That's Anthony's wife!
I should look into your eyes and tell you the truth?
I'll tell you the truth alright
Truth is relative
Fine! I'll be honest
And while I'm at it, i'll say I'm sorry
So it seems we're back on track
Then you just had to bring that friend over
Options, options, how I love them!
Now I contemplate
Now I scheme
But don't blame me
For I'm only a poor soul looking for variety :-)

Change

I have nothing against Obama okay. I know some of my friends think I've been hating on the guy. I'm not. I actually admire him a lot. It is the Ghanaian mentality that i don't get. How do you place a ban on funerals in Cape Coast for a day because Obama is coming to Ghana? So if my loved one dies and I want him buried on such and such day, i will have to tell his corpse to wait till Obama leaves? Why? Is the man giving my deceased loved one a visa to 'yankee asamando' or what?
I also heard that they sprayed the whole country (or was it just Accra, I'm not sure. It's hear say. Apparently Zoomlion Ghana Ltd got the contract) to kill mosquitoes because Obama was coming. I guess they had already planned to do something like that and they just felt like it was the right time. So, you knew that you could spray Accra and kill the mosquitoes, but you sat there with your hands between your legs for so long! Do you know how many times I have gotten Malaria? I am very bitter! Plus, do you really think Obama didn't take some anti-malaria tablets before roaming around Africa? That would not be smart on his part, would it?
I just heard that the government spent ONE MILLION GHANA CEDIS on Obama's historic trip to Ghana (I don't know how true this is). I almost choked when i saw this (I was reading a friends blog). I find this so disturbing on so many different levels. Who does that? I think sometimes the Smart Alecs running our country forget that they are running a THIRD WORLD BROKE COUNTRY. I don't even want to go into the level of corruption in Ghana. It's quite ridiculous, but i don't want to shy anyones parents so let me just keep quiet. If they had even spent the money on some infrastructure that would be around for awhile, we would just thank God! In fact, maybe i should go into politics, so that next time when something historic is happening in Ghana, it would mean that i am chopping my Christmas early! Or maybe I should be president, and pull an 'Animal Farm- George Orwell/ Napoleon & the pigs vs the other animals' on everyone, give out random awards with the tax payers money and save the biggest award for myself. Maybe I should just do that.

On a much more serious note, it is time for some serious change in our country. People are hungry, broke and tired in our country. Don't be fooled into thinking any different just because your parents can provide for your needs. ... Oh and by the way, I was absolutely horrified to hear that there have been some reported cases of swine flu in Ghana. I shudder to think about how many lives we will lose if this thing spreads in Ghana. The sad truth is that its only the financially challenged people who will die. You know how it is. I need not explain. Well at least the Deputy Health Minister says the government is putting together an emergency response team so that's good..... Okay, what way I saying about change? Oh yeaaaah change .... This change will only come about if there is a change in ideology and mindset. We are the future leaders, so the change will have to start with us. I see no point trying to teach an old, worn out man with broken bones and teeth how to dance. It's a much better idea to teach a two year old how to dance, and dance very well.

These things we 'have to do and stop'!

Do You Feel Special?

Okay someone dared me to put this up, so i have! (Borla, have u seen?) Please no one should judge me :-)

Sometimes i really really need to pee but i hold it in
Because i want to keep talking to you
Because those conversations are so fascinating
You challenge me
You make me smile
You make me LOL like its nobody's business
You play with my mind
I play with yours
We argue
We agree
We discuss
We plan
We LOL again and again
Oh wink at me one more time
Smiley Face!
Oh where did you get that cool emoticon?
I can't seem to get away from my laptop
I wish i could type one more word
But i really really need to pee
BRB!!!!

Mind your own!!

I can't even count the number of times i have heard..
- A short person laugh at someone fat, forgetting that they could use an inch or two.
- A fat person laugh at someone short, forgetting that they may need a gym membership.
- A skinny person laugh at someone fat, forgetting that they themselves need a Happy Meal.
I once heard someone with a big nose laughing at another's huge lips.
What is wrong with the human race?
Who gave anybody the right to judge another's body type?
What sort of ignorance is that? What expired weed do you smoke?
So far as i am concerned, unless you look out of this world gorgeous, you have absolutely no right to laugh at anyone else! Considering the FACT that no one is perfect, you might want to rethink the whole 'i'm childish and bored so lemme laugh at someone today' mindset. It will not get you far in life.
Maybe he likes his women with a little cushion for the pushing. Maybe he likes the petit and portable. Maybe i like my men compact. Maybe i like them tall and skinny. Bones turn me on, leave me be! Maybe i like juicy fat lips, it makes for the perfect snog (Hi Beyonce!!). Yes, he likes his girls with cup A minus. He is a mini sipper. Allow him to function and mind your own!!

UnderG millionaires

Today, I was looking at cheap tickets to Ghana for this christmas, and I started thinking about how much fun i had hanging out with family and friends when I went home last christmas. I thought about the wonderful trips to the beach and my trip to Ho to visit my grandparents and other extended family (This is random, and has nothing to do with what i'm talking about. I was talking to this guy who was born and raised in Ghana. He was talking about visiting his hometown, and he said 'I will go see my grandparents in the country side. Do you want to join me on my trip? LOLOL... After just one semester in yankee, homeboy does not call wherever it is that he comes from his 'hometown' anymore. He says 'country side'! I was astounded! shocked! bewildered!)
Okay where was I? Yes, as I was saying, i thought about the night life and the good times i had at Celsbridge (excellent khebabs), Honey Suckle, Twist, Champs (I never got the free drink happy hour thing), and how can i forget Rhapsodys? Never! That place was my joint. One would think my father owned it.
Then i started thinking about how much money i wasted at such places, especially Rhapsodys. If i had gone to some roadside spot like Purple Pub or something, I would have had so much money at my disposal. Instead i decided to waste money buying Mojitos for $8 in GHANA!
The reason why i loved those places so much was because i got to see so many people that I knew, and I also made so many new friends. I also totally loved the ambience. 'Twas all so classy! lol
Where am i going with all this?
I have come to the conclusion that there are people in Ghana who do not know what to do with their money chale. If you have money and want to invest in something, just go and find a good location, find some cheap Ikea furniture, pimp up the place, make it look hot as hell, put some 'obroni' at the door, and charge WHATEVER you want to charge, and the place will be packed! Why? Because Ghanaians like to rosh! ..and who wants to be the only one sitting at the roadside bar when all their classmates are at Citizen Kofi?

Black or White

I feel their eyes boring holes through our backs
When we stroll together arm in arm
I feel them shake their heads in disapproval
When we dance together as the sun sets

When they see us they see black and white
I see two hearts that beat as one
They see stereotypes
I see only you
They feel annoyance
I feel butterflies

Yes, the world is made up of black, white and everything in between
But we all feel the same pain
We all get hurt
We all bleed red
So who cares if you're white, black, red, brown or yellow
.. Chinese, Indian, Puerto Rican, French, or Togolese
If i know your heart beat better than i know mine

You Are My Person

.. Because you complete me
.. Because you are always there
.. Because you lift me up when I am down
.. Because it is you who puts that amazing smile on my face
.. Because you make me blush
.. Because i wouldn't be nearly as happy if i hadn't met you
.. Because you are ridiculously funny
.. Because you make me paranoid sometimes
.. Because there are 7 billion people in the world but i only see you
.. Because you fill up my senses
.. Because last night i dreamt about you yet again
.. Because you are exactly who you are - YOU
   You are my person!

Tired

I woke up this morning feeling rather tired
Was it because i had one too many cocktails last night?
Was it because i absolutely detest my job?
Was it because i worry myself with other people's worries?
Or was it because i'm tired of arguing?
Was it because i'm tired of fighting these emotions i feel?
Was it because i'm tired of playing 'dodge that cupid'?
Or was it just because i'm tired of trying to figure you out?
What at all leaves me so drained?
Oh who the hell cares
No, wait, i must care
I must figure this out
Because i'm tired of feeling tired.

Untamable You

Sometimes i wonder
If its all worth it
Me - so calm
You - so wild, running free
Sometimes  i ponder
On things said and things done
It seems You and I can only run for awhile
But for how long
For how long can I run
Trying to keep up with you
Wild..
Free..
Untamable You

HELLO

'Hello', He said
'Hi', She replied
.. The beginning of a wonderful friendship

'A date', He said
'Sure', She replied
.. The beginning of something special, maybe

'A kiss', He said
Eyes twinkling in the dark
.. silence
.. The beginning of something awkward

'A kiss', She said
'Aha!', He replied
.. The beginning of something intimate

The gods threw their dice
Yes, minds as cold as ice
Time
Distance
Space
Growth

Then they met again
Serendipity?
Fate?
Oh who knows

'Hello', He said
'Hi there', She replied
Awkward silence
He knew not what to say
Oh if only He knew
He had her from 'HELLO!'

Spot the difference

It's surprising how hard it is to tell the difference
Between a couch and a stool
A cop and a robber
The truth and a lie
A prince and a frog
Mr. Unbelievably Right and Mr. Oh Sooo Terribly Wrong
A housewife and a H*
A word and a poem
A sentence and a paragraph
Music and noise
I hear something that vaguely sounds like music..
..or could it be noise?
It's surprisingly hard to tell the difference
To dance or not to dance?
That is the question of the day

Her dilemma

Lost
That's how I feel when I look in your eyes
Want
That's what I feel when I look at your lips
Smell
That's what I want to do when I look at your neck
Touch
That's what I want to do when I look at your chest
Dare I go any further?
Dare I say anymore?
I don't think so
