Two Can Have Mood Swings

Yesterday...
I tried to talk to you
But you payed me no mind
I tried to get your attention
But you could not be bothered
Today I made breakfast
But you were not hungry
I made lunch
But you still weren't hungry
Yesterday...
Everyone in the world was cute
But me
Everyone in the world was better
Than me
You could see everything beautiful
But me
Now...
In the dark of the night
When the cold wakes you up
Suddenly I am all that matters?
I am all you can see?
Suddenly you want to play
Tickle me Elmo?
Yesterday...
You did not want to talk
But tonight...
You want to whisper
You want to grunt
No Mister!
My friends and I are closed
Until further notice
Can't you see I am resting
Saving up enough energy
To be a star
To be an object of perfection
Just for you! Humph!
Just for you!

Skip the bullsh*t

I know how this works
You look at me and smile
You think at that point of momentary insanity
I want her
I need her
I must have her
You turn on the charm
I think at that point of momentary insanity
I want him
I need him
Oh I might just love him
Somehow you sweep me off my feet
Of course it takes some time and effort
So far as I'm concerned its worth it
I go with the flow
Basking in that natural high
But we both know its not gonna last
We've been through this before
So why don't you spare me the bullshit
Let's skip the whole thing
I have too much on my mind
Too much to deal with
No time to waste
I really cannot stop
To pick up the pieces of broken-heart
So I meet your gaze with a smile
Head high, with my youthful grace
I say my hello, hi theres ..
.. And walk away

ASS-U-ME #2

If you are my friend, you should know that I'm not a big fan of 'assumptions'. I think people make too many assumptions and get hurt in the end. If you assume anything without asking me first to clarify, you are making an ASS out of U and ME, real talk.

To Be Continued (I'm Sleepy :-o)

Change

I have nothing against Obama okay. I know some of my friends think I've been hating on the guy. I'm not. I actually admire him a lot. It is the Ghanaian mentality that i don't get. How do you place a ban on funerals in Cape Coast for a day because Obama is coming to Ghana? So if my loved one dies and I want him buried on such and such day, i will have to tell his corpse to wait till Obama leaves? Why? Is the man giving my deceased loved one a visa to 'yankee asamando' or what?
I also heard that they sprayed the whole country (or was it just Accra, I'm not sure. It's hear say. Apparently Zoomlion Ghana Ltd got the contract) to kill mosquitoes because Obama was coming. I guess they had already planned to do something like that and they just felt like it was the right time. So, you knew that you could spray Accra and kill the mosquitoes, but you sat there with your hands between your legs for so long! Do you know how many times I have gotten Malaria? I am very bitter! Plus, do you really think Obama didn't take some anti-malaria tablets before roaming around Africa? That would not be smart on his part, would it?
I just heard that the government spent ONE MILLION GHANA CEDIS on Obama's historic trip to Ghana (I don't know how true this is). I almost choked when i saw this (I was reading a friends blog). I find this so disturbing on so many different levels. Who does that? I think sometimes the Smart Alecs running our country forget that they are running a THIRD WORLD BROKE COUNTRY. I don't even want to go into the level of corruption in Ghana. It's quite ridiculous, but i don't want to shy anyones parents so let me just keep quiet. If they had even spent the money on some infrastructure that would be around for awhile, we would just thank God! In fact, maybe i should go into politics, so that next time when something historic is happening in Ghana, it would mean that i am chopping my Christmas early! Or maybe I should be president, and pull an 'Animal Farm- George Orwell/ Napoleon & the pigs vs the other animals' on everyone, give out random awards with the tax payers money and save the biggest award for myself. Maybe I should just do that.

On a much more serious note, it is time for some serious change in our country. People are hungry, broke and tired in our country. Don't be fooled into thinking any different just because your parents can provide for your needs. ... Oh and by the way, I was absolutely horrified to hear that there have been some reported cases of swine flu in Ghana. I shudder to think about how many lives we will lose if this thing spreads in Ghana. The sad truth is that its only the financially challenged people who will die. You know how it is. I need not explain. Well at least the Deputy Health Minister says the government is putting together an emergency response team so that's good..... Okay, what way I saying about change? Oh yeaaaah change .... This change will only come about if there is a change in ideology and mindset. We are the future leaders, so the change will have to start with us. I see no point trying to teach an old, worn out man with broken bones and teeth how to dance. It's a much better idea to teach a two year old how to dance, and dance very well.

These things we 'have to do and stop'!

Mind your own!!

I can't even count the number of times i have heard..
- A short person laugh at someone fat, forgetting that they could use an inch or two.
- A fat person laugh at someone short, forgetting that they may need a gym membership.
- A skinny person laugh at someone fat, forgetting that they themselves need a Happy Meal.
I once heard someone with a big nose laughing at another's huge lips.
What is wrong with the human race?
Who gave anybody the right to judge another's body type?
What sort of ignorance is that? What expired weed do you smoke?
So far as i am concerned, unless you look out of this world gorgeous, you have absolutely no right to laugh at anyone else! Considering the FACT that no one is perfect, you might want to rethink the whole 'i'm childish and bored so lemme laugh at someone today' mindset. It will not get you far in life.
Maybe he likes his women with a little cushion for the pushing. Maybe he likes the petit and portable. Maybe i like my men compact. Maybe i like them tall and skinny. Bones turn me on, leave me be! Maybe i like juicy fat lips, it makes for the perfect snog (Hi Beyonce!!). Yes, he likes his girls with cup A minus. He is a mini sipper. Allow him to function and mind your own!!

UnderG millionaires

Today, I was looking at cheap tickets to Ghana for this christmas, and I started thinking about how much fun i had hanging out with family and friends when I went home last christmas. I thought about the wonderful trips to the beach and my trip to Ho to visit my grandparents and other extended family (This is random, and has nothing to do with what i'm talking about. I was talking to this guy who was born and raised in Ghana. He was talking about visiting his hometown, and he said 'I will go see my grandparents in the country side. Do you want to join me on my trip? LOLOL... After just one semester in yankee, homeboy does not call wherever it is that he comes from his 'hometown' anymore. He says 'country side'! I was astounded! shocked! bewildered!)
Okay where was I? Yes, as I was saying, i thought about the night life and the good times i had at Celsbridge (excellent khebabs), Honey Suckle, Twist, Champs (I never got the free drink happy hour thing), and how can i forget Rhapsodys? Never! That place was my joint. One would think my father owned it.
Then i started thinking about how much money i wasted at such places, especially Rhapsodys. If i had gone to some roadside spot like Purple Pub or something, I would have had so much money at my disposal. Instead i decided to waste money buying Mojitos for $8 in GHANA!
The reason why i loved those places so much was because i got to see so many people that I knew, and I also made so many new friends. I also totally loved the ambience. 'Twas all so classy! lol
Where am i going with all this?
I have come to the conclusion that there are people in Ghana who do not know what to do with their money chale. If you have money and want to invest in something, just go and find a good location, find some cheap Ikea furniture, pimp up the place, make it look hot as hell, put some 'obroni' at the door, and charge WHATEVER you want to charge, and the place will be packed! Why? Because Ghanaians like to rosh! ..and who wants to be the only one sitting at the roadside bar when all their classmates are at Citizen Kofi?
