Something There

There's something sweet and almost kind 

But he was mean and he was coarse and unrefined 

But now he's dear and so unsure 

I wonder why I didn't see it there before 

Oh so unkind, just not my kind

That's what I thought

Then something changed

Perhaps it was there all along

And now its cute, well I think so

And now he's sweet, and quite a mess

Whenever we're together he tries to be refined

Its quite funny actually,well I think so

Yet I do more than laugh when he glances at me

She glanced this way, I thought I saw 

And when we touched she didn't shutter at my paw 

No it can't be, I'll just ignore 

But then she's never looked at me that way before 

I don't know what it is about her

Maybe she sees right through me

I get confused, whenever she's near

And for some reason, I no longer can be mean

And for some reason, all I want her to see is me

I should run while I can still feel my legs

But warning signs, we both ignore

Insanity! Oh she does the strangest things to me

And when she looks at me, caution leaves with the wind

New and a bit alarming 

Who'd have ever thought that this could be? 

True that he's no Prince Charming 

But there's something in him that I simply didn't see 

Well, who would have guessed?

We must be nuts

We did not bargain for this

What were we thinking?

No, it can't be!

We'll just ignore

Its so peculiar

There may be something there..

That wasn't there before

Perhaps there's something there..

That was simply hidden

Perhaps we're sane after all

Because there's something there that wasn't there before
