When the Law becomes bullshit (#1)

Who determines what the law is?

I'd say God should be the most important lawmaker

But that comes with complications, doesn't it?

For one thing, not everyone believes in God

And those who do can be very selective

Choosing which laws to obey, and which to toss

Some do not even know what a conscience is

Yet they are so quick to judge others

That being said, I ask again..

Who determines what the law is?

When corruption flows through ones veins like foul blood

When judge X, who decides what is right and wrong..

.. Does what is wrong as well, and uses his discretion

Humph! Some discretion! Some Law!

How can such a person have the power to punish me?

When judge X, was influenced by the money Y gave

When judge X's cousin plays golf with Y

When judge X is sleeping with D's wife

Are you kidding me? What sort of joke is that?

When connections are all one ever needs in life

Who determines what is wrong or right

When sometimes working hard doesn't pay off

When not knowing anyone important is worse than being poor

When suddenly you realize the world is run by lawless fools

Yes, I said lawless fools, and feel free to sue me

Because I'll be the first to say

That when the world is ruled by corruption, dishonesty, greed and 'egos'

By people to whom the word 'conscience' means nothing

Then the law is as good as cow dung!

Do you think I'm special?

Am I bright enough to shine in your spaces?

~ Where do you draw the line between morality and the law? Should they be inter-connected? Putting morality aside, and looking at just the law, how does one trust the legal system in a place where corruption reigns. When a case can be in court for 10years because someone paid the Judge to stall the case.. When one party's lawyer claim he is sick, just so the case can be adjourned, and then you him eating some huge fufu at a 'chop-bar'... when one can just go t the cops and have someone arrested, and if you don't know the IGP, then I guess you'll be stuck in the cell for more that 48hrs.. When the president or some random minister can have someone put in jail for some random reason.. when someone is put in jail for smuggling drugs, put in jail for say about 10years, and two weeks later you see him chilling at the bar and buying drinks for everyone. As I said, in a country full of lawless fools, the law will continue making a fool out of everyone-- Cow Dung!
