In The Garden - Merle Haggard

I come to the garden alone

While the dew is still on the roses

And the voice I hear falling on my ear

The Son of God discloses.

And He walks with me, and He talks with me,

And He tells me I am His own;

And the joy we share as we tarry there,

None other has ever known.

He speaks, and the sound of His voice,

Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,

And the melody that He gave to me

Within my heart is ringing.

I’d stay in the garden with Him

Though the night around me be falling,

But He bids me go; through the voice of woe

His voice to me is calling.

I love this hymn. It always calms me down and fills me with hope. It is a constant reminder that God is always with me. Not only is looking out for me, he is my bedrock and my only form of security. I may not be the best of kids, but I love Him very much, so I try to do right.

It also reminds me of my dad. I miss him. He was awesome.. like superman kinda awesome.. lol..ofcourse he had his flaws, but who doesn't? He was my homie, and we used to do very random things like take walks in the garden (he was a horticulturist and a landscape designer, so we had a huge garden).

Guess what, lovers? This is my 100th post!!! Whoop!! Whoop!! :-) I'd always wanted to write, but after high school, I just stopped cos I couldn't find the time. I kinda like exploring different things, so I was all over the place. Then College kept me mad busy. Then last summer I heard about a blog called 'Adventures from the Bedrooms of African Women', and I loved it. I was very happy that Ghanaian women had taken it upon themselves to educate each other on issues about their sexuality and so on. I thought to myself 'Its about time!'. Anyhu, so I decided to follow the blog.. and then I was like 'You know what, I'll create my own blog too'. My first post was an 18 page research paper on Corruption in Nigeria (Bearhugs and kisses to you,Sadik, for actually reading the whole thing.lol), then I did a few poems.... and the rest is history (lol).

I'm hoping to finish writing a novel by the end of 2010, so I'll let you lot know how it goes... me, I'm kinda lazy, so you lot need to check up on me oh!

THANK YOU ALL FOR FOLLOWING MY BLOG, AND THANKS SOOOO MUCH FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT AND THE COMMENTS..KEEP 'EM COMING (U dunno how I love comments, half of them are so amusing). Thanks Lovers!!
